Dumfries & Galloway LEADER support 'Day of the Region' for 2012 & 2013!

Come and participate in a celebration of rural community life right here in Dumfries & Galloway as part of a growing concept in Europe, Day of the Region - be proud to be part of it!

Explore what is going on in your community, make new friends, try something new, find out some more and learn new skills. Perhaps even share your talents, help out and volunteer!!

Managed by Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Programme, this exciting initiative was delivered for the first time in the UK, right here in D&G last year. This year it is hoped the concept will be stregthened and grow to even more locations across the region with a key aim of increasing well-being, to encourage all of us to get to know those in our community better and be more connected to what is going on right on our own doorstep!

8 Communities are currently working with the Project Officer to develop details of their celebrations, which will be available on this website soon!

Day of the Region - BE PART OF IT!

The concept for Day of the Region here in Dumfries and Galloway has been developed through consultation and visits with partners in The Netherlands and Germany who have been delivering successful 'Day of the Regions' celebrations for a number of years.
