DALBEATTIE PROPOSALS ANNOUNCED!
Friday 5th October - Day of the Region launchThere will be a procession of community groups, including Brownies, Rainbows, Cubs, Scouts, Beavers, Sea Cadets, Army Cadets parading to Colliston Park led by the Galloway Pipes and Drums. This will be a lantern procession and will culminate with country dancing displays and an official launch at the pavilion in Colliston Park - ALL WELCOME!Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October - Day of the Region Weekend!Throughout the weekend there will be various themes 'Hedgehog Trails'! SANQUHAR PROPOSALS ANNOUNCED!
SO WHAT IS PLANNED IN SANQUHAR!?!Saturday 18th AugustAs part of the Riding of the Marches celebrations and Day of the Region promotion there will be a special Balloon Race, with the release taking place at Lorimer Park. Balloons will be on sale throughout the Riding of the Marches week!Friday 5th October - DAY OF THE REGION LAUNCHThere will be a ceremony in the Town Hall to formally launch Sanquhar's participation in the 2012 Day of the Region celebrations with a possible video link with another participaint country! Region to have its Day - Communities Announced!
Day of the Region is happening again this year in Dumfries & Galloway! This exciting initiative is supported by D&G LEADER programme and is part of a bigger European community project, being delivered in a similar format in other countries across Europe including the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Finland and Ireland.
